Parkour!!! in chennai????

No no no its not a typo for some it might be hard to believe that Parkour is actually practiced in Chennai. As for some , Chennai is the last place they will be looking for a physically intensive, characteristically urban, "off your rocker" kind of activity like Parkour.

As for us Chennaites( at least for me) its a welcome sigh of relief from the razzle and dazzle of cricket which never seems to go out of fashion. Of course its a hysteria all over India and its only foolish of us to change( or even thinking of changing) the love for the sport.

This new breed of sport(parkour) has seem to caught the attention of the people of this city and the number of people joining the session seems to be on the rise. Newspapers and media have diverted their attention towards these kind of niches (overdose of cricket!!!!!) and I hope this kind of attention will continue in the future too.

A sport like is sure to strike a chord among the persons aged between 15-30 though nothing stops people above these ages from practicing it. This sport is practiced regularly by a small group (visit :- www.chennaiparkour.com to know more) of enthusiasts who seem to have learned it the hard way. Thanks to these people,we could now see a gang of traceurs(as people practicing parkour are called) hopping, jumping, running and somersaulting @ Jeeva park situated at Venkatnarayana road,T.Nagar. Surely, a delightful sight...........
